The Pirelli P Zero SL-R TLR is a balanced road bike tyre that maximises performance thanks to its aerodynamic properties without compromising on rolling resistance, weight and grip. Using Pirelli's innovative PAAS technology, the P Zero SL-R TLR tyre introduces a new standard in aerodynamics. The optimised tyre geometry allows for more efficient airflow along the tyre, resulting in savings in wattage, especially when riding at higher speeds and with crosswinds. At the same time, rolling resistance, weight and ease of use remain unaffected. PAAS: Pirelli Advanced Aerodynamic System
The construction of the P Zero SL-R TLR road bike tyre is fully focused on sophisticated geometry which is the result of the Pirelli Advanced Aerodynamic System (PAAS). This involves precisely determining the position of the tyre's extreme width point through CFD simulations, similar to techniques used in the automotive industry. This specific shape keeps airflows close to the tyre with minimal little flow separation, reducing turbulence and drag. The tyre retains its aerodynamic properties even as it wears down, ensuring long-term efficiency.

SmartEVO 2 compound
The SmartEVO 2 compound is Pirelli's most advanced racing compound and consists of three different polymers which, in a perfect blend, optimise performance together. This compound is used by the professional riders of Lidl-Trek and other teams, and offers optimal grip in addition to low rolling resistance. This gives you perfect control of your bike, whatever the weather conditions.

LiteCore casing
The LiteCore casing is Pirelli's fastest and smoothest carcass. It has been developed to give you a superb ride and to deliver optimal grip and rolling resistance.

Development process
The Pirelli P Zero SL-R race tyre was developed using an extensive testing programme with 14 aerodynamic parameters and detailed analyses of wind tunnel tests to achieve perfection. It involved simulating realistic riding conditions with different wind angles between 0° and ± 20°. This resulted in a proven reduction in drag of more than 20% compared to traditional tyre profiles. The technology allows for a seamless transition between tyre and rim so that air continues to flow smoothly and mounting is simple.
